Thank you for considering The American School Foundation of Guadalajara for your child's education. We are a community dedicated to the growth, learning, and development of each of our students with more than 115 years of experience in educational excellence.

ASFG welcomes all qualified applicants for available spaces from Nursery (Early Childhood) to 12th grade (High School). The school does not discriminate in offering access to its educational programs and activities on the basis of race, color, gender, nationality, religion, creed, sexual orientation, or family structure.

As ASFG receives many more applications from qualified students than we have spaces available, our admission process is highly selective. Our priority admission process for the 2025-2026 school year starts on October 15th, 2024, and ends on January 17th, 2025. After this date, we still accept applications, based on availability on spaces.

Important dates:

  • In the fall of the year before the student wishes to enter

  • Priority admission for 25-26 school year starts on October 15th, 2024 and ends on January 17th, 2025

  • We can accept applications before then, but no priority is given for advanced contact

  • We can accept late applications, always depending on space availability

Evaluations for admissions

After the complete application documentation has been received, our applicants are evaluated.

  • Early childhood: in groups on January 23 and 24, 2025 with one extra day on February 27, 2025 in case you couldn't come on January.

  • Grades Prefirst, 1st and 2nd: beginning on January 10, 2025 (previous appointment)

    • **Prefirst: mandatory second group assessment February 7th, 2025.

  • Grades 3rd to 12th: on Saturdays from 9:00am – 1:00pm (previous appointment)

  • International families: whenever possible, following the above schedule, but when this is not possible, please see the information at the Evaluations page. We will always do our best to accommodate these families.


  • Late applications from local families: individually, by appointment, and only after complete application documentation has been received, always depending on space availability

Special note: If the student is currently studying at a school that uses the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP), we can always accept the most recent results instead of another admissions test, but we will still need a writing sample.

When are decisions announced?

  • February 21 and 24, 2025 as space permits

  • When a student is waitlisted, we hope they can wait until June 2025 for their decision, although we can often place students well before then. As our annual re-enrollment process is done in March, some spaces become available after that time.

  • For late applications, the decisions are communicated 2 to 3 weeks after the evaluation is completed.

When are new admission payments made?

  • March 3 – March 14,

    2025 for those who receive offers of spaces on February 21 and 24.

  • All students who received their decision after February 25, 2025 must complete payments within 2 weeks after the decision was made.

When are re-enrollment payments made?

  • March 3- March 28, 2025 for all our ASFG re-enrolled students.
