Activities

Specialty Classes:

In addition to daily classroom activities, early childhood students enjoy attending specialty classes taught by our music teacher, physical education teacher, and librarians. During warmer months, one of our weekly physical education classes takes place in the pool. In cooler months, children participate in two land-based classes each week. Classroom teachers or teacher assistants accompany their students to these specialty classes and provide support during the lessons.

Extended Learning Opportunities:

For pre-kinder and kindergarten students, we offer exciting co-curricular activities after regular classes. Please note that additional fees apply for the childcare service, sports program, and language classes. In August of each year, we hold a parent meeting to provide detailed information about these after-school options available for our early childhood students.

  • There is a childcare service from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m where students can relax, engage in supervised free play, and work on projects that complement our early childhood program. A nutritious snack is provided and served family style on our outdoor picnic tables.

  • Our physical education program offers two different co-curricular classes that develop sportsmanship, motor coordination, and stamina: Aprendiendo a Jugar and Expresión Sensorial.

  • ASFG's Language Institute provides a wonderful opportunity for students to begin learning a third language such as French or Chinese.

Childcare

A childcare service is offered to pre-kinder and kindergarten students from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Children are offered time to relax, have supervised free play, and work on projects designed to complement our early childhood program. Students are also given a nutritious snack provided by the school.

There are two distinct childcare services for parents with separate fees. A monthly fee allows children to stay every day and an emergency fee is charged on a daily basis and is applied once a child is brought to childcare even if the child does not stay for the entire class.

We believe that our nursery students should have quiet time to rest after a day of classes. For this reason, we do not recommend they enter our childcare program. If there is a need for a nursery student to participate in this program, we will review each case on an individual basis.
