Dear ASFG Community,
As the warmer months approach, and considering the temperatures we’ve encountered in recent years, we want to ensure that our students remain comfortable and focused during the school day. With this in mind, we are currently evaluating a variety of strategies including the installation of an energy efficient, centralized air conditioning system for our elementary and middle school building. We are also looking at upgrading the electrical installations and are considering solar panels to offset the electrical cost of any solutions that would require more energy.
While we complete this assessment, we will be implementing temporary cooling solutions, including the use of portable air coolers and fans in classrooms to help maintain a fresh and comfortable learning environment. These systems are ready to be placed in classrooms after being cleaned and serviced the past few months.
To further support student comfort, we kindly remind families of the importance of wearing appropriate clothing for warm weather. Light, breathable fabrics such as cotton are recommended, along with hats and sunscreen for outdoor activities. Additionally, we encourage students to bring reusable water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day. There are drinking fountains on campus for refill convenience.
