In 2001, Ms. Heinze made history by becoming the first woman to succeed Robert Trent as the Director General of the American School Foundation of Guadalajara (ASFG), a position that hadn't been held by a woman since Delia Walsh 65 years earlier. She implemented a unified educational philosophy, transitioning from four separate schools to a cohesive and integrated educational approach.
One of her notable contributions was the establishment of the Educational Scholarship Foundation (ESF) in order to support deserving students with financial need, furthering accessibility to education at ASFG. The school has since earned a prominent reputation as one of the top educational institutions in Latin America. Looking forward, while the future remains uncertain, the dedication of ASFG to its mission of providing a bilingual, bicultural, and secular learning environment is expected to endure for the next hundred years, emphasizing critical thinking, effective communication, and community engagement.
